Israeli Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has again made news because of what he said about how Palestinian prisoners are treated, using the death penalty, and tearing down buildings that belong to Palestinians.
Ben-Gvir has talked about his ideas on how to treat Palestinian prisoners and how to demolish homes. He is proud of making prisons places where prisoners, whom he calls terrorists, feel a lot of pain.
The report says that Ben-Gvir claimed about 10,000 illegal buildings were torn down in the Negev area over a year and a half. But this number is based on what he said, not checked by others to make sure it's completely true.
On March 30, 2026, the Israeli government made a new rule that says some Palestinian prisoners could be sentenced to death. This has caused many people and groups that care about human rights to speak out and share their worries.
Note: The words being shared have three parts that people say come from Ben-Gvir. But we can't be sure if he really said exactly those words. So, we shouldn't say he said them word for word unless we have a recording or a main source to prove it.
