In 2026, the Nobel Peace Prize was given to Navanethem Pillay, who is from South Africa and worked as a judge and for the United Nations to protect people's rights.
The prize was for her work in helping keep peace, making sure people's rights are respected, and making sure that those who commit terrible crimes like war and genocide are held responsible.
